This article aims to explain two specific features available in the Slides tab of the icastGo control room: the Slide Director and the Slide Viewer. These tools provide organizers and producers with means to control and view slides during a live webcast.
Accessing these two functions
In the control room, navigate to the "Slides" tab.
You will see two buttons located in the top-left corner of the screen:
- Slide Director
- Slide Viewer
Clicking on either of these buttons will open a new page in a new tab.
The URL of these tabs can be copied and sent to third parties to allow them to view or control the slides remotely, without needing an icastGo account.
Slide Director
The Slide Director provides more control, allowing manipulation of the slide carousel while the live webcast is ongoing.
Slide Viewer
Typically, the Slide Viewer is used to display slides on large screens for in-room participants and speakers.
Interface and Controls
Each of the two pages (Director and Viewer) has four buttons in its top-right corner, allowing:
- Switching the interface theme between light or dark versions
- Showing or hiding the slide carousel
- Showing or hiding the control buttons
- Putting the slide in full-screen mode
To exit full-screen mode, simply press the "Escape" key on your keyboard.
Scrolling through slides
Slides in the Slide Director can be scrolled in several ways:
- Using on-screen arrows
- Using the "Left" and "Right" keyboard arrows
- Using the "Page Up" and "Page Down" keyboard keys
- Using a slide remote
Note that any changes made to the slide carousel in one location will be reflected for all other speakers and participants connected to the control room. These changes will also appear in the Slide Viewer and the live webcast.
